The Nigerian poet and pianist Echezonachukwu Nduka has signed a deal with Chandelle Books for the publication of the USA and Africa editions of his second poetry collection Waterman. The book, first published in September 2020 by Griots Lounge Publishing Canada, is a collection of 59 poems. Based in Indiana, Chandelle Books is an imprint of EfineGlobal Publishing.
Erin Castaldi, Poet Laureate of the City of Somers Point, New Jersey, described Waterman as “A wonderfully winding work of a voice matured.” Tanure Ojaide wrote that the poems are “carefully crafted, highly descriptive, and flow rhythmically.” In a review for Open Country Mag, Emmanuel Esomnofu wrote:
Waterman pulsates with an urgent message. Nduka’s attention to history and detail courts a journalist’s applause. In precise language, he meets his themes. Our poet is at once worldly and metaphysical, methodical. He allows us a natural feel of the extraordinary.
Echezonachukwu Nduka, poet and classical pianist, is the author of Chrysanthemums for Wide-eyed Ghosts (Griots Lounge, 2018). He holds a BA in Music from the University of Nigeria and an MA in Music from Kingston University London.
