The Board of Trustees and Management of the Society of Book and Magazine Editors of Nigeria (SBMEN) is proud to announce its upcoming fiction and non-fiction workshop themed: “The Fundamentals of Editing Fiction and Non-Fiction.”
It is a four-weekend virtual training to be hold from 1 — 23 September 2023.
The aim of the workshop is to train participants in the fundamental techniques of editing and improving fiction and non-fiction stories. According to the Executive Director, Anwuli Ojogwu, “The course will help participants gain understanding of the core building blocks of fiction and non-fiction, and work on breaking down strengths and weaknesses.” The course requires a combination of creativity, critical, and technical skills.
Early and emerging editors, writers, and content creators will benefit greatly from this course, as will established editors and writers who want to improve or refresh their skills.
The training sessions will be facilitated by experienced professional editors from Nigeria, including Anwuli Ojogwu, ED, SBMEN. The course will be delivered through discussions, group work, class exercises, reading assignments, and case studies.
Registration: N120,000 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira Only).
